Casdagli Cabinet Selection Rosetta gets a maduro twin

In celebration of the Cabinet Selection series 5th birthday Casdagli Cigars launches a maduro version of Rosetta. Rosetta was the first vitola to introduce the Cabinet Selection series launched in 2015 and has grown to be in the Top 5 most sought after cigars in the Casdagli product portfolio. Rosetta Maduro will be available in the second half of February 2021 initially only with its godfather Kind Cigars, the distributor of Casdagli Cigars in Sweden. It will be made available as a general production cigar to Casdagli Cigars’ distributors worldwide in June 2021.

The modification is the changing of the wrapper leaf from the Dominican Cotui to the Ecuadorian Corojo natural Maduro wrapper transforming the original milk chocolate notes to the dark chocolate notes delivered to the palate. The rest of the blend remains unchanged. The Rosetta Maduro is created by Hendrik Kelner Jr of the Kelner Boutique Factory. Each dark stained wooden slide top box contains 25 cigars.

“Rarely can you change the wrapper leaf without tampering with the binder and filler whilst maintaining a well balanced and tasty cigar that is still true to its elder brother the Rosetta,” explains Jeremy Casdagli, the Founder of Casdagli Cigars.

The Rosetta cigar was born during a most interesting conversation about a perfect cigar addition to the Swedish coffee shops Jeremy Casdagli had with Martin Brix Nelson of Kind Cigars, whilst driving through Sweden together. Coffee is not just a coffee in Sweden, it’s a lifestyle, important part of social interaction. Sweden is in the top three of the world’s biggest coffee consumers per capita. While Swedes certainly drink coffee in the morning like the rest of us, what’s even more important in this Scandinavian country is the coffee break – fika. So designing a short smoke to be enjoyed during the whole nation’s all important fika seemed like hitting a perfect sweetspot.

True to the original spirit of the origins of this line, the Cabinet Selection cigars are designed to be paired with coffee drinks and all carry coffee related names: Rosetta, Ristretto, Romano. “It has been a pleasure seeing our baby, the Rosetta, taking the world by storm the past 5 years. Whilst the Rosetta works best with coffee with some milk added, the maduro version makes the perfect addition for a straight espresso. I am very happy with how the switch of, just the wrapper, completely changed the profile of this little masterpiece. I am very proud to be a part of this project,” adds Martin Brix Nelson of Kind Cigars.
