Casdagli Story Continues to be Written

Visiting the Casdagli booth during InterTabac is never a dull experience.

This is not a booth where people come and go and there are lulls in the traffic of visitors; it is always, but always, heaving with humanity – and a variety of cigar characters.

When I eventually drag Jeremy Casdagli away from his latest over-running engagement, he barely draws breath to tell me about news from this boutique brand which continues to attract followers in unusual places.

Casdagli Cigars has many friends in the Middle East and the combination of interesting flavours, inspiring vitolas and a back story large enough to intrigue even the biggest history fan, means this is a brand once discovered, never forgotten. It is now present in scores of markets worldwide, from Lebanon to Iceland and beyond.

“We have new lines coming out, one of which has yet another incredible story behind it – and is linked to the Casdagli family once again,” says Jeremy with a trademark twinkle of the eye.

“It involves Napoleon, a British Army officer called Hudson Lowe and a remarkable tale of military intelligence.”

The brand also launched its Villa Casdagli Edición Limitada at this year’s InterTabac, a 53 Ring Gauge by 7.3ins cigar manufactured in Costa Rica. Only 6,000 of these cigars will be made annually.

Casdagli Cigars has been honoured twice in recent years in the Cigar Journal Trophy Awards. This year, the Villa Casdagli Line won the Best Brand Other Award for Costa Rica. At last year’s awards, the brand won Best Boutique Brand (Costa Rica).
