Casa 1910 Introduces Steve Martin as Sales Manager for the US

With over 20 years of experience in the premium tobacco sector and a certification as a Cigar Sommelier Tobacconist, Steve Martin will bring his extensive expertise to Casa 1910 as the new Sales Manager for the United States, helping the brand rise to the forefront of the boutique cigar industry in the world’s largest market.

Steve Martin began his career at the tail end of the first tobacco boom in 1998 as a stock clerk for a small tobacconist in a shopping mall in Warren, Michigan, where he immersed himself in the cigar subculture and everything related to tobacco. He attended high-profile events such as the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show and visited top cigar shops around the world.

Since 2006, he has co-owned and operated high-end lounges in Michigan and Arizona, in addition to offering event services as a certified sommelier since 2015. His work is grounded in deep knowledge of the premium tobacco retail industry, B2B negotiations, and contracts with a large number of tobacco retailers.

Thanks to his understanding of the industry’s internal and external mechanisms, attention to detail, a firm focus on brand building, and tireless work ethic, Martin is confident he will bring Casa 1910 to the forefront of the boutique cigar industry in the United States.

“I’m a cigar man, and Casa 1910 has become my home. I plan to invite everyone looking for a new and memorable experience in the world of luxury cigars to join us. That’s what we’re creating,” he said.

“We’re crafting remarkably well-balanced cigars that offer flavor profiles only a few have experienced. I’m excited because I truly believe these are the best Mexican cigars the world has never seen…” he added.

During his first season with the brand, Steve traveled to several U.S. states representing Casa 1910 at events such as the DCF Polo in Colorado and the NYCA Golf Outing in New York, as well as hosting brand introductions at Churchill’s Cigar Bar & Bistro in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, and two events with Robusto’s Cigar Bar & Bistro in Sterling Heights and Dearborn, MI.

According to Martin, the plan is to significantly expand Casa 1910’s footprint in the Midwest while participating in the launch of the new MexiGars brand, which is expected to ship to the United States retailers within the last quarter of 2024.

Since his appointment as Sales Manager for the United States, he has been strategically building the brand’s presence in key markets, with plans to significantly increase market share in 2025.

“The market can do many things in a short period of time. So can we. We can do a lot, but it’s about how we do these things and when. Timing is key to positioning and strengthening a brand, and timing provides a wide window of opportunity. You have to know when to act,” says Steve.
