AJ Fernandez Amar: A Blend with Gratitude at PCA 2026

Asking the question, “what’s new from AJ Fernandez” could easily produce a steady stream of answers.

Few cigar makers today operate with such relentless momentum, turning out a litany of compelling cigars not only for the portfolio that bears his name, but also for a growing list of fortunate third parties who are always eager to harness his touch.

At PCA 2026 in New Orleans, Fernandez introduces Amar, a release that may feel more personal than others to him. The name carries a subtle tribute to his Cuban-Lebanese roots, meaning “moon” in Arabic, and “to love” in Spanish.

And the sentiment runs deeper still.

According to the company, Amar was conceived as a gesture of gratitude, rolled in response to devastating 2025 fire at the Estelí factory. It is dedicated to those who stood by Fernandez and his team through the aftermath (and continue to do so).

Produced at the San Lotano Factory in Ocotal, the medium to full-bodied cigar is a Nicaraguan puro finished with a Habano wrapper, offered in Robusto, Toro, Gordo, and a distinctive 6½ x 50 Torito.
