On Thursday July 18th, 2024, cigar lovers from Toronto, Canada and beyond flocked to the ‘Night Under the Stars’ event, hosted by popular Toronto-based tobacconist, Cigar Studio. To enrich the sold-out event, the cigar gods chose to cast uninterrupted sun and idyllic evening weather upon Toronto’s scenic waterfront area, as 250 attendees (many of whom were keeping with the roaring 20’s Gatsby-styled theme of the event) mingled, danced, and puffed on cigars from an overstuffed 10-pack sampler while sipping an assortment of craft spirits and cocktails provided by Last Straw Distillery, located in nearby Vaughn, Ontario. One excessively large ring gauge cigar (which shall not be named) occupied an inordinate portion of the real estate within the My Father-branded sealable bag provided to house the cigars. Not a bad problem to have.
Brands that had representatives on hand at their own dedicated table and display to provide cigars included: My Father, Drew Estate, Alec Bradley, Espinosa, A.J. Fernandez, Epic, Asylum, Jake Wyatt, Gran Habano, and Kristoff.
After a long absence due to Covid, cigar events have become reinvigorated within the Toronto area as of late, with various local tobacconists vying to attract greater numbers of aficionados through staging events of increased size and attraction.
