XIX Festival del Habano: Numbers, Facts & New Releases

In the press conference hosted by Leopoldo Cintra González, Habanos S.A.’s Commercial Vice-president and Javier Terrés Ercilla, Development Vice-president, introduced the new releases for 2017. Among the most exciting announcements: Montecristo’s new Línea 1935 with three vitolas (Maltés (53×153 mm), Dumas (49 x 130 mm), and Leyenda (55 x 165 mm)). The first two vitolas are brand new vitolas in the Habanos portfolio, and the third one takes the form of the special limited edition Montecristo 80 Aniversario, launched in 2015 to commemorate the brand’s 80th Anniversary. Other releases include the H. Upmann Sir Winston Gran Reserva 2011 and a revamped Quai D’Orsay with two new vitolas No. 50 and No. 54. Development of Grupo Habanos in 2016

Habanos S.A. stated a total turnover of 445 million dollars in 2016, with a growth rate of 5% compared to the previous year. Luis Sánchez-Harguindey, Co-President of Habanos, S.A. said “We are very satisfied with our business evolution in 2016. The turnover growth accomplished, states the strengh and development capacity of Habanos S.A., even in over current challenging market environment. We will continue our leadership, achieving a 70% of market share (excluding USA). We have a very solid base to face 2017 with great optimism and to continue surprising our customers and consumers with new initiatives.”
