RoMa Craft Tobac Weaselitos Coming To Europe

If Skip Martin’s explanation of the Weasalitos project is anything to go by, European fans of boutique cigar production company RoMa Craft Tobac will want to get their hands on the newest addition to the portfolio.

The Weasalitos is a half lancero (3 ½ x 38) produced using the tabaquiado method of rolling a cigar.

Skip Martin explains the technique involves bunching tobacco by hand before it is bound in newspaper to tighten the bunch progressively as the tobacco dries out. “The method was used to shape figurados before presses and is used by to create the Weasalito as it’s difficult to fit a lot of tobacco into a small ring gauge cigar,” said Martin.

Once this process is completed, the lancero sized cigar is cut in half and the wrapper is added.

Three Weasalitos varieties will be available:

  • Weasalitos Ecuador Habano Ligero– Ecuador Wrapper, Cameroon Binder, Nicaragua Filler.
  • Weasalitos Mexican San Andress – Mexico San Andres Wrapper, Connecticut Binder, Dominican, Nicaragua and Pennsylvania Filler.
  • Weasalitos US Connecticut Broadleaf – Connecticut Wrapper, Cameroon Binder, Nicaraguan Filler.

Packaging is in 100 count boxes, with the left side of the cigar sitting on the top level of the box and the right side of the cut cigars sitting on the bottom of the box.

Weaselitos will be available in nine different EU countries from October.
