ProCigar Appoints Mr. Cascella as President for the 2026–28 Term

The Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers (ProCigar) announced the election of Tabacalera Fuente as the presiding company of the organization for the 2026– 2028 term, represented by its CEO, Mr. Ciro Cascella. His appointment was formalized during the Annual General Assembly, held on April 30th, 2026.

The election and swearing-in ceremony took place at the facilities of General Cigar Dominicana, with the participation of ProCigar members, who represent the country’s leading premium cigar manufacturers.

Upon assuming the position, Mr. Ciro Cascella expressed his gratitude and commitment to the responsibility entrusted to him: “I feel truly honored by this designation. I deeply appreciate the trust placed in me, and I commit to continuing to strengthen and elevate this industry that fills us with pride and passion, and that generates a significant impact on the socioeconomic development of our country.”

He also acknowledged the leadership of the outgoing president, Mr. Litto Gómez of La Flor Dominicana, highlighting his valuable contributions: “Litto has done an exceptional job positioning ProCigar where it stands today. His dedication and vision have strengthened our association and consolidated its global presence.”

Looking ahead, Mr. Cascella reaffirmed his commitment to the organization’s mission and vision: “We will continue to drive ProCigar forward and reaffirm the Dominican premium cigar as the best in the world.”

During the same assembly, the remaining members of the Board of Directors were also appointed, composed of representatives from leading companies in the sector: Mr. Litto Gómez (La Flor Dominicana) as Vice President; Mr. Guillermo León (La Aurora) as Second Vice President; Mr. Hamlet Espinal (Davidoff Cigars) as Secretary; and Mr. Yuri Guillén (General Cigar) as Treasurer.

The Board is further completed by its members-at-large: Mr. Hendrik Kelner, as President Ad Vitam; Mr. Ricardo Nieto (Tabacalera de García); Ms. Raquel Quesada (Quesada Cigars); Mr. Ernesto Pérez-Carrillo (Casa Carrillo); Ms. Nirka Reyes (De Los Reyes Cigars); Mr. José Blanco (Tabacalera Palma); Mr. Thomas Strickrock (Arnold André); and Mr. Abraham Flores (PDR Cigars).
