ProCigar Reaffirms Its Social Commitment

The Association of Dominican Cigar Manufacturers (ProCigar) continues to strengthen its commitment to the country’s social development through initiatives that promote education, inclusion, and the creation of opportunities for new generations.

As a central part of its social responsibility vision, ProCigar leads the Más Allá del Umbral (MAU) scholarship program, an initiative aimed at transforming the lives of young Dominicans through access to comprehensive education. This program originated as an initiative embraced by ProCigar after recognizing its profound human and social value. Inspired by the loving memory of Mauricio, a young man who was about to begin his university journey, the program transforms a personal story into an opportunity for collective impact. Through MAU, this legacy lives on by opening doors for young people who aspire to access higher education and build a better future.

MAU not only facilitates entry into higher education but also provides academic support, continuous training, internships, international experiences, and job placement opportunities.

As part of this initiative, ProCigar has strengthened a strategic alliance with the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA), expanding the program’s reach and enhancing its impact in developing talent aligned with current market demands. The agreement will provide students with access to higher education, professional training, internships, and international experiences, fostering a closer connection between academia and the productive sector.
