In September J. Cortèz & Oliva announced the release of their new Serie V Melanio Limitada 2019 on the global market. The Diadema Edition comes in boxes of ten, but unlike the original this limited edition is round with a conical head and not box-pressed. According to Brian J. Shapiro, director of international sales, the response has been overwhelming.
“For last year’s limited release we only put out 1,500 boxes and there wasn’t enough for everybody who wanted them,” he says. “This year we produced 2,500 boxes and they were sold out immediately.”
The company has also introduced Serie Oliva V Maduro as a regular line in the US for the first time.
“We’ve done the Maduro as a yearly limited edition for many years now, but now we decided to make it into a regular line.”
The line will hit the global market early next year.
