Eladio Díaz, 70th Anniversary

Intertabac 2023 has seen the international debut of the Dominican tobacco company Díaz Cabrera, headed by the sons and wife of the master blender Eladio Díaz. The family was represented in the show byEmmanuel Díaz, sales director and head of international markets, who presented the Eladio Díaz 70th Anniversary, the new blend made by Eladio for his seventieth birthday.

It is a small batch, prelude of the birth of a new brand. Eladio Díaz 70th Anniversay is a 7×52 (178 mm x 52) of which 1,400 14-count boxes have been manufactured for the entire world with a blend composed of seven tobaccos: an Ecuadorian wrapper, a Mexican binder and five Dominican tobaccos in the filler.

Tabacalera Díaz Cabrera held a small official tobacco releasement at Intertabac 2023, in the booth of its distributor for Europe, which is the German company Kopp Tobacco. According to Emmanuel Díaz, the new Eladio Díaz 70th Anniversary is available now for any international distributor who wants it, although it has to be through Kopp Tobacco, which has the exclusive for Europe.

Javier Blanco Urgoiti is a Spanish journalist who is crazy about the processes surrounding tobacco that take place before its manufacturing in the cigar factory – in particular the secrets of tobacco cultivation. This is an area in which he tirelessly tries to educate himself. Javier started smoking and writing about cigars in 1998, initially for the Spanish magazines La boutique del fumador and La cava de cigarros, and later, as chief press officer at La Aurora, the oldest tobacco factory in the Dominican Republic. Now he writes for Cigar Journal as a correspondent in Spain.
