Stg’s Former Commercial Director (Svp) Joins Tor Imports

Tor Imports – the leading UK importer, distributor, sales, and marketing arm for premium cigar makers from Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Mexico – has appointed Huw Williams, Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s former Commercial Director (SVP) as their Strategic Partnerships Manager UK & Exports, effective from 1^st January 2023.

Scott Vines, Tor Imports Managing Director, said: “I’m delighted to have Huw join our senior team at Tor, whose pedigree and experience in sustainable business growth and innovation speak for themselves. He will play a fundamental role in our vision and strategic plans to scale our business, with a focus on the distributive, convenience, and alternative verticals. He will work alongside our team to further develop Tor’s range of products, and the quality and efficiency of services that we offer to all our partners domestically and internationally”.

During his time as a Commercial Director (SVP) on the Global Board of STG Plc, Huw was responsible for strategic, commercial, and operational activities. He spearheaded the development and implementation of the commercial division’s strategic plan and the digital innovation programme.

Previously, as their Managing Director UK & Ireland, he directed the team that led to STG’s outperformance of larger competitors and to claiming market leadership. He facilitated STG’s EU wide compliance with ‘Track & Trace’ legislation and held senior positions of Chair and Vice Chair of the UK’s industry lobby group ‘Imported Tobacco Products Advisory Council’.
