The long expected Regional Editions for Lebanon were finally presented on June 23, at a virtual event celebrating the 40 anniversary of Phoenicia Trading. The event was initially planned for November 2019 and was postponed twice, first because of the political protests in Beirut and then for the COVID 19 restrictions.
Mr. Mohamed Zeidan, Chairman of Phoenicia Trading, opened the celebration and was followed by Mr. Walid Saleh, CEO of Phoenicia Trading, and Antoine Bathie, Co-President of Coprova, as the new Quai D’Orsay cigars were presented.
The Quai D’Orsay Baalbeck Exclusivo Líbano is a Duke size (140mm by 54) and comes in 1,200 numbered Slide Lid Boxes of 50 cigars. The cigar pays tribute to the Baalbeck temple complex in Lebanon.
Then the Habanos Co-Presidents Inocente Nuñez Blanco, Luís Sanchez-Harguindey, as well as Leopoldo Cintra González, Commercial Vice-president, and José María Lopez Inchaurbe, Development Vice-president, among other people from the industry payed tribute to Mr. Mohamed Zeidan and the Phoenicia team for the company’s 40th anniversary.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Ramon Allones Phoenicio 40. A video celebrated the spirit of the ancient phoenicios and told the story of the production of the new release.
The Ramon Allones Phoenicia 40 is a Sublimes size (164mm by 54) is sold in boxes of 10 and 20 units. To celebrate the occasion, four lines of 100 humidors containing 40 cigars each were produced (Phoenicians, Mediterranean, Volutes and Horizon). A fifth line called Journey will have a production of 40 humidors of 40 cigars. All humidors produced by Elie Bleu.
More than 500 hundred cigar enthusiasts could also try the new cigars first hand at multinational cigar tasting events. The events happened simultaneously in 9 cities (Havana, Athens, Beirut, Dubai, Sofia, Kuwait, Limassol, London and Brindisi) and were broadcasted live during the main virtual event.
