Plasencia 1865 Promotes José Luis Plasencia to Vice President

Tobacco distributor Plasencia 1865, headquartered in Miami, Fla., has promoted José Luis Plasencia to vice president. In his new role, José Luis Plasencia will oversee the entire distribution process and business operations for the company and will support sales representatives around the country.

Plasencia 1865 is the distribution center created to import and distribute all of the Plasencia Cigars product lines.

Looking to continue his family’s 150-year legacy in tobacco, José Luis Plasencia has spent the last five years dedicated to becoming an expert in the industry. During this time, he has been working alongside his father Nestor Plasencia Sr. at their tobacco fields in Nicaragua and Honduras, to make sure that he understood everything that went into the production of tobacco. After years of working mainly in the fields, he was then promoted to a management position, overseeing the company’s finance department. In his new role, Jose Luis will relocate from Nicaragua to Miami. He will continue to travel regularly to Central America where the majority of Plasencia’s Cigar production takes place.

José Luis received his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with minors in finance and international business, from Keiser University.
