Peter Novysedlák Slovakian Champion Again

In 2021 he won. In 2022 he finished second. Last year he won again. This year, the dominating force of Slovakian slow smoking, Peter Novysedlák, not only defended his title; he also set a new Slovakian record. 2 hours 37 minutes and 7 seconds was 18 minutes better than his winning time last year, and 37 minutes better than the 2024 runner-up, Július Honsch. Just 13 seconds behind him, Eduard Mysloviš finished third.

Slovakia is normally a very active CSWC country, but this year didn’t see as many participants as usual, though.

“The contestants were very much looking forward to what the initial registration said, 28 contestants for Košice and 32 contestants for Bratislava,” organizer Roberto Resmer says. “Unfortunately, the virus period and work duties reduced the number of competitions to a total of 18.”

Nevertheless, Novysedlák was able to shine and he will surely be a top ten contender at the grand final in Dubrovnik in August.

  3. Eduard Mysloviš 1:59:49
