Nicoya Cigars appoints new Malaysian Distributor

Nicoya Cigars brand owner Gerard Hayes recently announced a new Malaysian distributor.

“I am a pleased to announce that Nicoya Cigars has appointed Cigar Malaysia as Malaysian distributor,” said Hayes in a media release. “They have several retail stores, including their flagship lounge at Ansa Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, and supply many quality outlets and hotels in Malaysia.”

They also have an online store presence and it’s a good fit for our business as we increase our footprint into Malaysia and the Asian region, said Hayes, who visits South-East Asia regularly.

Made at the A.J. Fernandez factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, Nicoya Cigars’ portfolio currently consists of two blends, the Medios and Fuertes.

“We’re delighted to be exclusive distributors of Nicoya cigars in Malaysia,” said Abdullah from Cigar Malaysia. “Gerard has taken it upon himself to do what many of us would love to do and own his own cigar brand. We look forward to bringing his cigars to a larger audience and competing among other New World cigars in our range. We have the largest range of cigars in Malaysia with over 400 different lines, but Nicoya is the first Australian-owned cigar company, so it does offer something unique.”
