NEW CIGAR PODCAST GOES LIVE

Nick Hammond, Cigar Journal writer and author, has created a new podcast in the wake of the Corona virus pandemic. Called Around The World in 80 Cigars – The Podcast, the pod is an audio take on the book Hammond released last year; Around The World In 80 Cigars – The Travels of An Epicure.

‘I’ve been planning it for a while, as I tend to keep an audio diary of sorts, and so have lots of old audio from my many travels and adventures around the world,” he says. ‘And then all this madness descended and I realised there were a lot of potentially bored folks out there. So, I decided to do my bit to ‘entertain the troops!’”.

Each episode features an in-depth chat with someone interesting; so far, Jimmy McGhee from Hunters & Frankau, Laurence Davis from Sautter of Mayfair and Scott Vines of Tor Imports have all been featured. More tall tales, laughs and smokes are scheduled to ensue in the following weeks.

“It’s something to take people’s mind off what else is around them, just for a little while. I have a very interesting and different contacts book and I’d like to share a few names from it. I’ve been astounded by how well the pod’s gone down, to be honest.”

Hammond says that during this time of lockdown at least, he’ll be producing a show every Friday. The podcast is currently available on Apple Podcasts and iTunes as well as Podbean, and can also be accessed direct from www.nick-hammond.com
