Mombacho Cigars To Celebrate 12th Anniversary

The annual festivity is set to take place on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Granada, Nicaragua.

Mombacho Cigars is set to celebrate their 12th Anniversary in early February of 2018. On Saturday, February 3rd, the Mombacho team will welcome their friends, family and business partners to Granada, Nicaragua for the celebration.
“2017 was a year full of Mombacho Moments and we will kick off 2018 with our biggest party of the year. Everyone is invited to come to Granada and celebrate 12 years of Mombacho with us,” said Claudio Sgroi, President and Master Blender of Mombacho Cigars.

The idea to create a completely unique Nicaraguan cigar company started back in 2006 when co-founders Cameron Heaps and Markus Raty were visiting Granada. This was the beginning of a love affair with Nicaragua. Heaps and Raty wanted to share that love with the rest of the world and from this, Mombacho Cigars was born.

Mombacho Cigars opened their own factory in 2010. Mombacho moved their operation to the historic Casa Favilli in 2014. Originally built in 1925, Casa Favilli has become a very popular destination for tourists and cigar lovers alike.
Claudio Sgroi joined the Mombacho team in 2012. He started by re-blending Tierra Volcan. Sgroi followed that up with Mombacho’s second core line, the highly rated Liga Maestro. Mombacho went on to release their first limited edition cigar in 2016 to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. They broke new ground in 2017 with their first 100% vintage Nicaraguan puro called Cosecha 2012.

“My time with Mombacho has been a great adventure and we take time every year to celebrate with the entire Mombacho Family. Our Anniversary Party is a time to celebrate the love and passion that goes into every cigar we make. We would be nothing without family, so we take this time to show how much we appreciate everything they do,” said Sgroi.
