LODENFREY Expands Assortment with Exclusive Daniel Marshall Humidors

With the start of this year’s Oktoberfest, the handcrafted humidors by Daniel Marshall are available at LODENFREY for the first time, bringing American flair to the Bavarian capital.

A special rarity is the ”Oktoberfest Humidor“, crafted exclusively for LODENFREY. This one-of-a-kind piece features an oil painting that combines the California humidor designer’s signature craftsmanship with Munich tradition. 

The inspiration for the ”Oktoberfest Humidor“ came from Hollywood star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Marshall has been handcrafting humidors for his longtime friend for many years. German actor and former bodybuilding champion Ralf Moeller, who was crowned Mr. Universe in 1986 and is known for roles including ”Gladiator“, has also been part of Marshall’s and Governor Schwarzenegger‘s close circle of friends for 30 years: Moeller is a passionate smoker of Marshall’s cigars and owns several of his humidors.

Since 1982, Daniel Marshall has been handcrafting humidors in his California workshop from fine materials such as burl wood and Spanish cedar. His clientele spans Hollywood actors, music icons, and royal families: alongside Governor Schwarzenegger and Moeller, his prominent clients include legendary actor Jack Nicholson and singer Nick Jonas. In 2017, Marshall crafted a one-of-a-kind humidor for Prince Albert II of Monaco, which was auctioned for 75,000 euros in support of ocean conservation. The British royal family is also among Marshall’s longstanding associates, as are renowned luxury houses such as Dunhill, Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Hermès, and S.T. Dupont, for whom he has designed custom pieces. Daniel Marshall humidors are also part of the collection at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington.

The designer’s own cigar line has also attracted attention, including the ”Daniel Marshall Red Label 24KT Golden Torpedo“, a cigar crafted in Nicaragua at Plasencia and hand-wrapped by Marshall in more than 50 sheets of 24-karat Italian gold leaf. The idea originated in connection with the Scarface humidor for Al Pacino, which Marshall created on behalf of Universal Studios for the Blu-ray release of the film classic.

The Scarface humidor is available now at LODENFREY, along with four additional models that hold between 20 and 100 cigars and are all hand-signed by Daniel Marshall.

The oil painting on the ”Oktoberfest Humidor“, crafted exclusively for LODENFREY, was painted directly onto the hand-carved humidor by renowned Colombian artist Juan Rosillo, who is based in Los Angeles, and depicts Munich’s Oktoberfest in all its liveliness. On closer inspection, the LODENFREY crest, featuring its traditional heraldic shield, can be seen in the background, honoring the Bavarian heritage of the house. Available as a single piece, the humidor is a special collector’s item for cigar enthusiasts.
