Oliva Serie V Melanio will be joining the JR Cigar 50th Anniversary Series with its first ever rounded size for the U.S.
The Oliva Serie V Melanio, a special tweaked version of the Oliva Serie V was first introduced in 2012. Since then, it has been one of the most consistently ranked cigars in the industry, garnering several 90+ ratings and a Cigar Aficionado #1 Cigar of the Year award in 2014. Up to now, all Melanio releases in the U.S. have been in the box-pressed format.
For this special Anniversary Series, Oliva has brought a rounded, parejo vitola to the American market for the first time. “Oliva is honored to be a part of the 50th anniversary celebration of JR Cigar,” says Cory Bappert, CEO of Oliva Cigars. “We felt it was fitting to do a special size from our most prestigious line to commemorate such a historic occasion.”
The Oliva Serie V Melanio JR 50th is hand rolled at Tabacalera Oliva de Nicaragua S.A. It uses aged Nicaraguan tobaccos for both the filler and binder.
The cigar is rolled into a rounded 6X50 Toro, the first rounded Melanio ever released in the U.S. The cigars are packaged in boxes of 10. Notably, this is a limited run project.
Priced at $15.00 per cigar; $127.50 per box, this cigar will be available September 15 exclusively at www.JRCigars.com.
