Cigar Trophy Awards 2021 | September 16, 2021

On Thursday, September 16, 2021, we will be presenting the most anticipated and popular consumer awards in the industry, the Cigar Trophy Awards. Due to the canceled InterTabac trade fair, the ceremony will again take place virtually and can be followed live via social media (www.facebook.com/CigarJournal).

How do we determine the winners?

In the first half of June, consumers were invited to nominate their favorites. This year we asked for Best Brand, Best Cigar, Best Value, Best Accessory and Best Virtual Lounge. In the latter, we specifically altered the category to virtual lounges, because so many locations had to close for a substantial period of time over the past year. We received over 50,000 nominations. From those, we created a shortlist as the basis for the voting.

Then the actual voting phase started. You, dear readers, were able to vote for your favorites from the five most popular shortlist entries in each category. The approximately 140,000 votes ended in tight races – as it so often is when voting. Basically, all nominees are already winners.

In the ceremony on September 16, we look forward to announcing your winners. In addition, four Cigar Trophies will be awarded that were determined by our editorial team, namely those in the categories Outstanding Art, Charity & Community, Ambassador and Lifetime Achievement.
