Casa Turrent Maduro Torpedo is #13 of Top 25 of 2015

cigar-journal-top-25-2015-no-13Tasting notes: This Torpedo has a fine sweetness, roasted and woody aromas, as well as opulent spice. There is also some eucalyptus freshness and coffee/nut aromas in the creamy smoke. Complex and flavorful.

In the spring of 2015 Alejandro Turrent launched the brand Casa Turrent. While it was initially produced as a house brand for his own lounges, it later became available in stores across Canada and Europe and is now sold worldwide. “I have been wanting to create a true family brand for quite some time now”, says the cigar producer. A Negro San Andrés wrapper envelops a blend of 80 percent Mexican tobacco complemented by Nicaraguan leaves. The baseline Casa Turrent will be getting a second band that reads “Series 1901” referring to the birth year of Alejandro Turrent’s grandfather. Two additional lines have just been added to the brand: The Series 1942 (Alberto Turrent’s birth year) and the Series 1973 (Alejandro Turrent’s birth year).
