Villiger Cigars is set to ship the new Villiger 1888 today Monday, December 12, 2016 nationally to cigar shops in the U.S. The blend first appeared at the 2016 IPCPR in Las Vegas, followed by the InterTabac 2016 trade show in Dortmund, Germany. The official U.S. launch event will take place on December 16, 2016 at Miura Cigars in Doral, FL. The cigars are already available in Europe.
Villiger 1888 was first released in 2010 as a limited edition with a black and yellow band, commemorating the company’s 100 year anniversary in Germany. Made in the Dominican Republic, the 1888 features an Ecuadorian wrapper, Mexican binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. The line will be available in five vitolas: Corona (6 x 43, USD 5.70), Robusto (4 7/8 x 50, USD 5.95), Toro (6 x 50, USD 6.25), Torpedo (6 x 52, USD 7.10) and Toro Gordo (6 x 60, USD 8.20).
