Initially launched in 2012 with a natural wrapper, J.C. Newmans cigar brand Perla del Mar now receives an update in form of a new line with maduro wrappers.
The new 1787 is a one vitola blend that comes in a Supremo size, just like 1638 line released last year. The new 1638 Supremo (6 x 60) features a different blend than the previously released Gran Toro size.
Boutique cigar manufacturer Viva Republica introduced a new cigar line called Art of War, a larger sized parent brand to the company’s Warfare Series.
The company used the Solera technique usually applied in the making of wine, sherry, rum or brandy as a curing method. Four wrapper options are available for this line.
Unlike other Boutique Blends cigar line, this release is rolled at the Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend is comprised of a Nicaraguan Pelo de Oro wrapper and filler and a Nicaragua Habano binder.
La Gloria Cubana is launching two new lines with LCG Serie R Esteli Maduro only to be available at brick and mortar cigar shops in the U.S. and LGC Serie R Black Maduro to be sold through internet and catalog retailers.
The all-new line now features a Seco priming wrapper from Honduran San Agustin, a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Honduras.
The blend uses a Cameroon wrapper from the Belita region, a Dominican binder as well as Nicaraguan Jalapa tobacco, Dominican Piloto and Dominican tobacco grown from regenerated vintage seeds.
The Maduro version of the acclaimed Dunhill Aged Selection uses the original blend of the core line with a Sun Grown Ligero Maduro leaf as a wrapper. The original Aged line features an US Connecticut Shade Grown leaf.
The company states that all tobacco used in the blend was aged for more than four years including a year of finishing in Dominican rum barrels. Cohiba Macassar will be available from August 2016 in the U.S.A.
For the newest blend of Foundry Tobacco Company, brand manager Michael Giannini teamed up with A.J. Fernandez. Foundry Time Flies was blended and rolled by A.J. in his Estelí factory and uses tobaccos from the Quilali region in Nicaragua.
eneral Cigar introduces the limited edition Mao blend to the market. A press release states that the release features Dominican tobacco seeds from the 1960’s that were regenerated over eight growing seasons through breeding the plants in two different countries.
