Storedright: Assuring Correct Cigar Climate Storage

A significant investment is required to build and operate a well-designed humidor which provides optimum storage conditions for cigars. STOREDRIGHT, created by husband and wife team Jeremy and Stacy Stamkos, helps cigar lounges, distributors, and even manufacturers achieve those conditions throughout their entire humidor or storage facility.

“We realised early on that many large humidors, and even some smaller ones, have micro-climates where the temperature and humidity are not suitable for cigars,” said Jeremy Stamkos, an Indoor Environmental Consultant with 15 years’ experience. “By identifying and eliminating sub-optimal micro-climates, full and proper utilisation of a lounge’s walk-in humidor or larger warehouse can be achieved.”

STOREDRIGHT relies on placing multiple monitoring sensors throughout specific locations of the humidor. Once poor micro-climates are identified, the STOREDRIGHT team can then properly address them. The real-world implications are huge according to Stamkos, “STOREDRIGHT will give confidence to everyone from casual cigar lovers to cigar collectors bidding online for cigars. Knowing the humidor the cigars were stored in was always at an optimal level gives confidence to discerning buyers. Cigar manufacturers will also be able to ensure their cigars sold by retailers are enjoyed by customers as intended.”

Stamkos notes that contributing factors to sub-par storage may not even be caused by internal issues and can include climatic conditions of the geographical region or varying temperature exposure on external walls adjoining or adjacent to the humidor.

“StoredRight offers continuous 24/7 monitoring of the installed system and weekly and monthly emailed summary reports detailing the average temperatures and humidity levels,” said Stamkos. “When consistent optimum conditions have been met, the business will have use of the STOREDRIGHTTM Accreditation logo, while  If any areas within the humidor are not achieving the desired optimum conditions, our indoor environmental consulting division can provide advice on what measures can be implemented to rectify the situation in those locations.”
