Platinum Nova Cigars — the Difference Makers

When Platinum Nova Cigars burst onto the premium cigar scene in 2019, the company signaled that it wasn’t just another cigar maker. Introducing itself with the launch of six limited edition cigars, each with a beautiful turquoise band wrapped around it to evoke thoughts of the warm Caribbean Sea, there was something different about the company.

Fast forward five years later and the company’s portfolio has grown to include 26 different blends and sizes. And the qualities that set it apart from many of its peers in the industry have become clearer. Platinum Nova Cigars is driven to being a leader in making positive change in its community and the world at large. First, there’s the company’s commitment to sustainability and empowering women. Then there’s its focus on using only clean ingredients to promote health and well-being. And of course, let’s not forget the company’s focus on creating personal relationships with its retailers and consumers, which led Platinum Nova to its latest PCA Show releases, the Platinum Nova Batch Toro Nicaragua, Trappist 1G and 5 Boroughs.

According to Platinum Nova CEO, Leonor Abzaradel, the company spends a lot of time arranging meetings with its retailers and their customers to learn their preferences and how to better serve them.

“We use Zoom and other platforms to constantly meet with out customers to ask them what they think about our existing brands and what other types of cigars they’d like to see,” Abzaradel explains. “We are always working for the smokers!”

As a result of these meetings with retailers and customers, the Batch Toro Nicaragua is the company’s first foray into a spicier fuller-bodied cigar with more pepper elements. A Nicaraguan puro, the Batch Toro Nicaragua is a 6 x 54 that is packaged in 20-count boxes.

Trappist 1G is a 7 ¼ x 54 Torpedo made at the company’s Terranova cigar factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic. Using a Habano 2000 Oscuro wrapper, broadleaf binder and Dominican filler tobaccos, Trappist 1G is packaged in 10-count boxes and offers a medium- to full-bodied smoking experience with rich woody and earthy aromas and hearty notes of pepper.

Platinum Nova’s 5 Boroughs cigar is a 7 ½ x 50 Churchill made from a Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper, two binders of Cubita and Corojo tobaccos and a filler blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos. Medium-bodied, 5 Boroughs is a balanced smoke that offers notes of creamy spice and wood.
