Mombacho Cigars’ Claudio Sgroi will add a third cigar line to his current production cigar portfolio with the launch of Casa Favilli later this year. A sneak preview was provided to Cigar Journal at the InterTabac Trade Show in Dortmund.
“The cigar is an homage to our Casa Favilli factory,” said Sgroi. “It is our third line of Nicaraguan puros; I’m very proud of this. Mombacho is now recognized as the only brand with several lines which are all puros.”
The Casa Favilli features Broadleaf seed from Jalapa, Nicaragua – the first time a Nicaraguan broadleaf will be used in the industry according to Sgroi. Claudio admits he was initially looking to produce a maduro cigar, but it was too hard to find a Nicaraguan maduro he liked. “The sweetness from Jalapa gives a well-rounded taste to this cigar,” said Sgroi. The blend also includes binder from Condega and filler from Jalapa, Condega, and Esteli.
Casa Favilli is a regular production cigar and will be available in a Robusto (5×50), Toro (6×52) and Torpedo (5 ½ x52). Pre-releases will be hitting the market in November and retailing for between 11-13 Euro.
