DBL Cigars by Francisco Almonte has begun shipping their newest release, La Pipa. La Pipa is a pipe-shaped cigar handcrafted by Francisco Almonte and his team at Tabacalera DBL in Tamboril, Santiago, Dominican Republic. Each La Pipa features intricate artwork on the wrapper that is unique to each individual cigar. This cigar offering is the first of its kind to ever be produced for regular production by any cigar company.
La Pipa is available in one size (6 7/8 x 56) and is offered with three different wrapper options.
– San Andres Mexican Maduro wrapper with artwork of Candela and Connecticut
– Ecuador Habano wrapper with artwork of Candela and Maduro
– Ecuador Connecticut wrapper with artwork of Candela and Maduro
The binder and filler for each above are the same:
– Binder: Sumatra from Indonesia
– Filler: Piloto Cubano and T13 from Dominican Republic
La Pipa is offered in 4-count boxes and each cigar has an MSRP of $18.00
The artwork on each La Pipa is handcrafted by Dominican artist and cigar roller, Junior Almonte, who is a cousin of DBL Cigars owner, Francisco Almonte. Each cigar, including the intricate designs on the wrapper, takes 30-40 minutes to make and only 12-16 cigars are produced each day at Tabacalera DBL. “La Pipa is a piece of art. I love a challenge and this cigar was definitely a challenge to perfect. The draw, the construction, and the combustion are incredible and this cigar tastes amazing,” said Francisco Almonte.
