Davidoff Honoring the Year of the Snake

In addition to the Year of the Snake Limited Edition lancero cigar, Davidoff will launch a Masterpiece Humidor with an exclusive gran toro cigar, an accessories gift set and a Year of the Snake Flagship Edition toro cigar available in very limited quantities.

The cigar editions and the accessories gift set will include a precious collector’s coin that will increase engagement, excitement and exchange amongst cigar lovers and collectors worldwide.

Davidoff and the Year of the Snake
2025 is the Year of the Snake, a sign of elegance and balance.  As in 2013, the Snake heralds Davidoff’s new cycle of limited editions dedicated to the Chinese zodiac in 2025. “To mark this very special occasion, we wanted to delight our aficionados with novelties around our Lunar New Year celebrations, while preserving our original intention of these product launches: Celebrate in style, honour the zodiac and create truly unique cigars that will fill our aficionados’ time beautifully – for the first time with three different formats”, says Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff. “I am convinced that with this new cycle we will distinguish ourselves through our leap forward in terms of innovation and packaging design. The changes we have made make our collection more relevant than ever to our customers around the world.”

Limited Edition 2025 lancero cigar
When enjoying this cigar, the flavours dynamically glide across one’s palate, often changing direction while maintaining Davidoff’s signature balance. Especially the Dominican San Vicente and the Mexican Negro San Andres filler tobaccos, which are both known to stimulate the areas on the palate responsible for sour and salty sensations, drive the fresh and lemony notes without ever overpowering the palate. The blend is not only unique in taste, but also in tobacco innovation: This is only the second time that Davidoff’s Master Blenders have used a Mexican filler tobacco in a cigar, and the first time that they have used a Dominican hybrid seed 98 tobacco from the Martin Garcia terroir, which adds sweet and creamy notes. Flagship Exclusive toro cigar
For its esteemed Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 flagship store customers, Davidoff launches the Year of the Snake Flagship Exclusive. While the brand has released flagship exclusive editions dedicated to the Chinese zodiac in previous years already, this new launch takes exclusivity to a new level: The Flagship Exclusive now has its very own, specifically created cigar format that is not available anywhere else. The 24 toro cigars offer a taste experience similar to the Limited Edition lancero. The edition is limited to 600 boxes worldwide, and is only available in Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 flagship stores. Intensity: 3 out of 5 Dimensions: 52 RG x 6“ | Ø 2.1 cm x 15.2 cm

Pioneering packaging design
While each of the previous editions continuously took a creative new approach to translating the zodiac sign’s character traits into packaging design, the new cycle brings greater change by embracing global social developments. As a first step towards a more circular approach, Davidoff now reduces the use of hard-to-recycle materials and presents both its Limited Edition and the Flagship Exclusive in an elegant wooden box that surprises aficionados by allowing a glimpse of its exciting interior through a wooden frame. The cigars have a second band in red with yellow accents. As red is considered a lucky colour in Chinese culture, and yellow is one of the lucky colours of the Snake zodiac sign, the combination is believed to bring good fortune and prosperity.

Accessories Gift Set
The Davidoff Year of the Snake Accessories Gift Set is the ideal gift for aficionados born in the Year of the Snake. Discreet on the outside, the inside reveals a precious porcelain ashtray that can rest two cigars, an eyecatching cigar case for two cigars and an elegant punch cutter with two different blades, all in the Year of the Snake design. The excitement of opening the beautiful box is enhanced by a Snake pop-up display that allows aficionados to showcase their Gift Set with the lid open. To elevate the cigar ritual, the set’s collector’s coin can be used as a cigar stand. Limited to 500 pieces each, the accessories are only available as part of the Gift Set .

Masterpiece Humidor
The Year of the Snake Masterpiece Humidor is the most valuable piece of the Year of the Snake collection. Its lid shows a fascinating scene of a Snake spiralling upwards through waves while protecting tobacco leaves, which were taken from the Year of the Snake cigar blend and adorned with 24-carat gold. While the artwork was initially designed by Chinese illustrator Feifei Chen, French marquetry artist Mariane Léger creatively translated Feifei’s illustration into 326 individual pieces of varying shapes, sizes and textures and applied them to the humidor. Together, the two women designed and created a piece of art with a beautiful, mesmerising design and an expressiveness like no other. The humidor is accompanied by 88 gran toro cigars made with the same special blend as the limited lancero and toro cigars. In Chinese culture, the number eight is considered the luckiest.
