CSWC in Santiago de los Caballeros | Dominican Republic

Eight smokers gathered at Cabinet Tabaco Boutique in Santiago de los Caballeros, Cabinet Santigo to decide who was to be the country’s first slow smoking champion ever. Five men and three women sat opposite each other for a race that was decided after a little over an hour and a half.

When the cigar of David Fernandez de Leon, a Cuban Habanos Sommelier and entrepreneur living in the Dominican Republic, died after 1 hour and 36 minutes there was only one person left.

Rafael Cesar Solano Portorreal, one of the favorites, held on for another 14 minutes before he was crowned the first ever Dominican slow smoking champion. At 1 hour 50 minutes and 21 seconds he even made it into the top 20 list of the season.
