The artisans of Cohiba present the third expression of COHIBA SPECTRE, a small batch creation.
Cohiba Spectre features four varietals of tobacco, each paying homage to the growing regions, soils and microclimates from which they have been harvested.
Sean Williams, brand ambassador for Cohiba said, “Cohiba Spectre continues our tradition of creating exceptional smoking experiences. Our blending expertise, passion for tobacco, and commitment to craftsmanship and creativity are on full display with Spectre. As with its predecessors, this offering is uniquely representative of our rarest tobacco. Spectre is quite simply, a cigar that can never be replicated.”
Handcrafted in Santiago, Dominican Republic at General Cigar Dominicana, Cohiba Spectre is crowned with an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper. The leaves underwent a secondary fermentation process lasting six months, during which time the tobacco’s allure was deepened.
The binder is a wrapper-quality, Connecticut broadleaf grown for Cohiba in the Connecticut River Valley.
The blend is a Dominican Piloto Cubano, aged in tercios since its 2014 harvest, is configured at the center of the bunch, flanked by Nicaraguan Jalapa leaves from the 2017 crop. The Nicaraguan leaves were aged in Spanish Sherry barrels to impart a rich aroma and a delicate undercurrent of sweetness.
500 boxes of Cohiba Spectre have been produced, and the cigars are made by just one roller, Ms. Xirolma Céspedes and one buncher, Mr. Ruben Dario Perez Peña.
To ensure that the tobacco mastery and craft of Cohiba Spectre are fully realized, the blend has been made in a singular size, a 6.5” x 52 called Toro. A box of Cohiba Spectre (10 cigars) can be purchased at select retailers for $1199.90, and individual cigars will sell for $119.99. Cohiba Spectre will begin shipping on November 23, 2021.
