Clear Water Distilling | Pleasant Grove, Utah

Utah is known as the Beehive State due to its roots with the establishment of the Church of Latter Day Saints and the concept that all who were there in Utah at the inception of the Salt Lake area must work selflessly together to promote industry for the greater good. It might seem uncommon, in an area dominated by one particular religion, to have a world-class distillery with a walk-in humidor and cigar patio outside, but that is exactly what we have with Clear Water Distilling in the nearby suburb of Pleasant Grove.

Dan Brady is the Tobacco Sommelier at Clear Water and he keeps an immaculate humidor. Cigars are perfectly maintained despite the dry air from the high desert thanks to the humidity in the humidor being perfectly maintained. Prices on cigars here are also quite competitive in spite of Utah’s high tobacco tax, making this quite an economical retreat. But do not confuse priceworthy and elegant as the distillery hits on both levels.

Do your best to attend one of Dan’s cigar education classes as well as a cigar and spirit pairing out on the patio, especially when the weather is favorable. The camaraderie and good times had at Clear Water are as satisfying as the spirits that they feature. Your knowledge of cigars will improve every time you attend!

Make the founder, Matt Eau Claire proud and come by and sample some of the great whiskeys, tequila, vodka and other fun libations that are enjoyed at Clear Water. For those of you who can’t make it to Utah, you can also purchase these products on their website at shop.clearwaterdistilling.com and with this article you can enter Bruce10 for a nice discount on your purchase, and drink at your home and light up a cigar and live vicariously as you imagine yourself at the pleasing distillery located in Pleasant Grove.
