Cigar Emperor, a tobacco import company, led by owner and CEO Dr Matthew T. Nekvapil from headquarters in Malaysia, has recently expanded into the Thai market and will be focusing in this market on non-Cuban cigars.
Cigar Emperor has made quick inroads in Thailand in 2019 with the help of their newest addition to the team, Mr. Brian C. Laudico, appointed as Brand Ambassador for Thailand.
“Brian personally curates all the brands that are brought into the market using his knowledge and past experience with the demographics of cigar smokers in Thailand,” said Nekvapil.
“The Thai market is very challenging as we have a broad spectrum of smokers from ex-pats, to the local Thais, and to the millions of tourists that visit each year,” said Laudico. “Cuban cigars are widely available here and I enjoy the opportunity to introduce our clients to the best of the best new world cigars.”
Cigar Emperor’s latest addition, Kafie 1901 Cigars, is one Cigar Emporer is very excited about as it will be the first time this brand will be available in Thailand. “I chose to bring in Kafie 1901 Cigars for two reasons. Firstly, those who follow Kafie 1901 Cigars know the passion of its owner and founder Dr. Gaby Kafie when it comes to both his brand and the cigar industry. Secondly, each cigar I smoked from the 1901 line really stood out to me for their quality of construction, and the blends used. The time and care that has gone into each blend have created unique flavors and profiles that have something for everyone, which is exactly what I’m looking for in this specific market,” said Laudico.
Cigar Emperor’s full range of cigars can be found in the humidor at Duke Contemporary Art Space in Bangkok, which they also use as their base of operations for holding cigar events such as launching brands, Whisky tastings and pairings, and Cigar 101 classes.
