Chicago cigar event raises $250,000 for good causes in single night

At a private cigar event, The Clayton, The Chicago 15 and Chicago Cut Steak House handed over the whopping cheque to Carlito and Cynthia Fuente and Erik Newman. The extraordinary sum has been donated to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, which directly supports thousands of underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic.

Major players and big hitters from sports, business and media were all in attendance at the event and enjoyed an evening of food, drinks and, of course, cigars.

The donation to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation was made all the more poignant by the recent passing of Carlos Fuente, Carlito’s father, aged 81. He had built Arturo Fuente from the ground up and in later years ran it alongside Carlito.

Sponsors on the night included Dreyfus, Ashby & Co, Lagunitas Brewing and Varsity Views.
