This year’s Charity & Community Award for extraordinary charitable service went to Camaquito. Founded by Swiss citizen Mark Kuster in 2001, the children’s aid organization works in Cuba and is well known by cigar smokers in Switzerland and Germany. Thanks to Kuster’s tireless dedication, as well as the help of countless volunteers and passionados, over 1.5 million Swiss francs have been invested in on-the-ground projects that directly benefit the island’s children.

Camaquito focuses on supporting and developing children’s education and health through the renovation and construction of schools, hospitals and institutions. And by facilitating special cultural and athletic projects, the organization fosters sustainable advancement of children in rural and infrastructure-poor areas.

Done, and thank you.
