Celebrating the rich and vibrant history of 1920ʼs Ybor City when the cigar industry and social scene were booming, and prohibition wasn’t keeping anyone down. This costume optional, all-inclusive event will send you back to a time when goodtimes reigned supreme. All in support of the Ybor City Museum Society, dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the unique cultural heritage of Ybor City.

Tens of thousands of people, cigar enthusiasts and the like have passed through our doors…and some…may have never left.

On Thursday, October 5th, and Thursday, October 26th join us and the Ybor City Historic Walking Tours for a unique evening inside J.C. Newman Cigar Company factory, El Reloj. This hour-long evening tour will explore the darker side of El Reloj that our daytime tours do not touch on. You’ll learn all about the history of cigar factories, and many of the ghosts that still haunt our halls.

Hand-Rolling Classes
at J.C. Newman Cigar Co.

J.C. Newman Cigar Co. maintains a tradition of hand-rolling cigars going back to its founding in 1895. Now, we invite guests, cigar aficionados and cigar novices alike, to participate in the same hand-rolling experience. With guidance from one of our master cigarmakers, roll five cigars you can take home with you.

We just added more Thursdays and Friday classes to our lineup! Groups of six guests can come to the factory for a hands-on cigarmaking experience. You will roll the wrapper on the bunched binder and filler of a cigar and make cigars alongside our factory staff.

The experience lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes and is intended for those of legal purchasing age for tobacco (21+) and costs $75 per person at the time of booking.
