The man responsible for the blend of Gurkha Cigars’ Heritage line, which debuted at IPCPR 2015, is none other than the company’s sales director, Juan Lopez. Of course, he had a little help from the cigar makers at American Caribbean Cigars in Estelí, where the Heritage cigars are produced. And Kaizad Hansiota, Gurkha’s CEO, was also involved, giving the final product his blessing. The Heritage line’s intriguing blend hooked us right away, and in 2016 the cigars finally made their way to Europe. In addition to the Toro, Gurkha Heritage is available in Robusto, XO, Figurado, Prince and Kingsman formats. Since IPCPR 2016, Heritage cigars are also available as Maduros in Robusto, Toro and Robusto Corto formats.
Tasting notes: “The fine gingerbread sweetness and the scent of fresh bread rolls are just the beginning. Then come foresty, woody notes that cajole the palate with spice. Finale: leather and chocolate sweetness. Medium-bodied.”
