The CSWC in Spain

The Spanish qualification round of the Cigar Smoking World Championship 2022 was held at the private casino club in the city of Puente Genil about an hour north of Malaga. Half of the participants were out within the first half hour, but there was still some excitement in the end. Accompanied by a live flamenco singer and guitarist, of course, the competition turned into a close race between José Maria Padillo och Pepe Ximenez.

“Since Pepe received penalty minutes for losing his ash after 20 minutes, the winner of CSWC Spain 2022 was Jose Maria Padillo, with 1 hour 8 minutes and 20 seconds,” organizer Jan Vistisen says.

He stumbled upon the cigar world while working for a non-governmental organization in Estelí, Nicaragua, and is now mainly making a living writing about cigars, metal music, tattoos, and travel.
