Most people know the skiing region Alta Badia in the South Tyrolean Dolomites from the skiing world cup. In town of St. Kassian is the luxurious gourmet hotel Ciasa Salares with a fantastic view of the Dolomites. Family Wieser manages the hotel with thoughtfulness and, particularly from a culinary point of view, offers more than one would initially suspect. Aside from the four restaurants in the hotel there is also the Cheese Room and the Chocolate Room. For us connoisseurs, however, one room in particular must be included: the cigar lounge. Stefan Wieser himself enjoys a good cigar, when he finds time for it, and therefore in his hotel we find three connected rooms with very comfortable cushioned furniture from the “good old days,” which really invite you to sit down and enjoy a cigar.
Again and again, I find it particularly pleasant when there is also a view to the outdoors and you can let your mind wander while enjoying a cigar. From the bar, you are spoiled with all the delicacies that go with the respective cigars. Of course, you can smoke the cigars you bring with you for your vacation, but you can also choose from the lounge’s humidor.
By the way, the Wieser family calls this room the “Smorting room,” the smoking and flirting room. Trying out this combination is tempting, even if I have never seen it that way before.
