The Year of the Tiger starts with the launch of a limited-edition smoke from Punch called Fu Manchu. The new size marks the fourth release in the brand’s highly successful Chinese New Year Series. Punch Fu Manchu is a follow up to 2021’s Kung Pow!, 2020’s Chop Suey and 2019’s Punch Egg Roll.
Ed Lahmann, Senior brand manager of Punch and the creator of Fu Manchu said, “Punch is keeping its Chinese New Year tradition alive. For the 2022 release, we went old school, replicating a maniacal kung fu master’s white hair and long goatee with a blonde cap and extended pigtail. Whether you’re watching Kung Fu Theatre or karate kicking back with friends, Fu Manchu breaks bricks on both flavor and price. Have fun with this one. It will go quickly.”
Handmade at HATSA in DanlĂ, Honduras, Fu Manchu is a five-country blend featuring a Dominican, Nicaraguan and Mexican filler, an Indonesian binder and a Honduran Habano wrapper. The cigars are box-pressed and come in 20-count bundles placed inside a takeout-style soup container box with a visual shout out to the Year of the Tiger.
Limited to 6,400 boxes, Fu Manchu were shipped to brick and mortar locations across the country on February 1.
