New Distribution Center and Retail Space for Canteros New Zealand

Moving into their new distribution center and retail space in late 2021, Canteros New Zealand now, for the first time in half a decade, provides a place for Christchurch-based aficionados to purchase cigars, pipe tobacco, humidors, and accessories over the counter at a retail store.

The move saw Grant “The Cigar Merchant” Ovenden build New Zealand’s largest walk-in humidor to store and facilitate the growing online sales of cigars in New Zealand from the new distribution center. “The majority of cigars are de-boxed into custom made drawers for easy picking/dispatch by my team for online sales,” said Ovenden.  “Ample space is also available for bulk box-storage as he moves to purchasing in much larger quantities than years gone by.”

The new building is nearly 10 times the size of the previous location and allows for ample warehousing space for other businesses operated by Grant. “The new retail space includes the display of humidors, smoking pipes and accessories; however displaying cigars or tobacco branding is not permitted under the strict Smoke Free Environments Act policed by the Ministry of Health in New Zealand.”

The move has allowed Canteros New Zealand to expand its range of cigars offered in New Zealand with Quesada/Casa Magna, Karen Berger, and Davidoff among some of the new brands Grant is sourcing directly.
