Now that the production of Casdagli Cigars’ Mareva Spalato Limited Edition has come to the end, Mareva Spalato No. 2 is launched aspiring to take over the popularity of the original release.
Mareva Spalato No. 2 will be a general production cigar and already made available to Casdagli Cigars’ distributors worldwide, in time for a Christmas smoke.
The main modification is the change of the wrapper leaf – Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper transforming the original dark chocolate notes to the milk chocolate notes delivered to the palate.
“As the original was such a hit with the blend working so well in the Pyramide format we decided to determine the new blend by keeping the filler, binder and format unchanged and solely experimenting with different wrapper leaves,” explains Jeremy Casdagli, the Founder of Casdagli Cigars.
The Mareva Spalato Limited Edition was launched in 2017 and restricted to 10,000 cigars. The Mareva Spalato No. 2 like its predecessor belongs to the Club Mareva Line of Casdagli Cigars. All now five vitolas of the Club Mareva Line are created in collaboration with the Cigar Club Mareva in Split, Croatia – the home of the Cigar Smoking World Championship (CSWC).
Each Club Mareva Line blend is personally selected by Marko Bilić, Founder and President of Cigar Club Mareva and CSWC , and carefully created by Casdagli Cigars’ Master Blender Hendrik Kelner Jr of the Kelner Boutique Factory. The City of Split was named “Spalatum” by the Romans and then renamed “Spalato” by the Venetians. The presentation box replicates the famous black marble from the Island of Brac that the emperor Diocletian used to decorate his palace in Split in 305AD. Each box contains 15 cigars.
