Gurkha Royal Challenge Maduro Toro is #19 of Top 25 of 2015

cigar-journal-top-25-2015-no-19Tasting notes: This dark cigar develops nutty aromas with black pepper and a vanilla sweetness. It smells of toasted bread. It has the fine spicy aroma of cappuccino. Creamy in the smoke and harmonious. Medium- to full-bodied.

The Maduro version of the Gurkha Royal Challenge was launched at the beginning of 2015. The blend for the filler and the binder remain the same for both lines, however a Connecticut Broadleaf is used for the wrapper in the Maduro series. These cigars are produced by American Carribean Tobacco S.A. in Nicaragua. The presentation of the cigar just as stunning as the cigar itself: a leather box holds 20 cigars and clasps shut with platinum-finish buckles. And all that for a price that definitely makes it a “best buy”.
