The last event in what was called the Trinity of Trinidad took place at Doha, Qatar, last Saturday, December 7th. For the first time ever, Habanos took a brand anniversary celebration for different countries in order to give cigar enthusiasts from different parts of the world the opportunity to gather and enjoy the brand’s new releases.
The celebration of the 55th Anniversary of Trinidad started in February with the Habanos Festival. The second event took place in London for the Habanos World Days in June. This time, the celebration came to Doha where around 500 guests from more than 40 countries could enjoy an amazing night full of attractions to say goodbye to the Trinidad Year.
Phoenicia Cyprus, one of the biggest Habanos distributors in the world, has put an amazing effort to make every moment special from the start until the end. The Doha Exhibition & Convention Center was transformed into a huge humidor resembling the S.T. Dupont humidor, one of the releases of Trinidad for this year.
The welcome speech was given by Mr. Mohammed Zeidan, Chariman of Phoencia, followed by the Habanos Co-Presidents Maritza Carrillo González and Luis Sánchez-Harguindey and then by Walid Saleh, CEO of Phoenicia Cyprus.
The guests then had a six steps dinner signed by the acclaimed Chef David Sosson from Hamad International Airport food and beverage estate, elected the Airport Chef of the Year in 2023.
The night was filled with musical and dance artistic presentation with artists coming from different countries such as Germany, Lebanon, Cuba, Algeria, France and Ukraine. The Mayyas dance group from Lebanon, winner of 2022 America’s Got Talent, brought 28 dancers in a standout performance.
Another highlight of the dinner was the presentation of two special cocktails prepared to be paired with the two new Trinidad releases. The Trinidad Robusto Extra was paired with the Havana Night cocktail and the Trinidad Cabildos EL 2024 with the El Ingenio, both created by Rastislav Kasar from Slovakia, 2022 and 2023 World Champion in the Coffee and Good Spirits competition. The guests could enjoy the cocktails in the regular or “virgin” options.
The evening finally got to the end with a Rock and Roll presentation by the Managers band, led by Mr. Alain Crevet, CEO of the S.T. Dupont. It was a night that will definitely be in the memories of all the 500 attendees that gathered to celebrate the Cuban Cigars Culture.
