El Criollito

At this years upcoming Premium Cigar Association, PDR cigars is releasing an updated blend and packaging for its El Criollito line.

The original line was released in 2016 for Europe, then in 2017 the cigars were released on a limited basis in the United States. The original blend was a Criollo wrapper from Ecuador over a Mexican San Andres binder and two Criollo 98 filers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

For the 2021 release, Abe Flores says, “We updated the bands and the box from the old brown stain box to a more modern look. And the blend now is all Dominican Criollo 98 from the Leo Reyes farm.”

The sizes remain the same from the Club at 4.25” x 30 retailing at $2.40 up through the huge Setenta at 7” x 70 retailing for $9.19.
The other update is the name PDR. It now stands for Puros Dominican Republic.
