Dunbarton Introduces Overseas No. 2

Overseas No. 2 was actually ready last year, but this year’s InterTabac marked the launch for the second cigar in his international line. And it’s quite different.

“It remains to see if this will be a disaster,” Steve Saka, founder of Dunbarton Cigars, laughs. “Overseas No. 1 was a medium body, smooth and elegant style of cigar. This one is rather potent and strong, much more peppery and spicy. It has a bit of dried fig and cayenne pepper going on – a bit bity. So maybe the ones who loved Overseas No. 1 will be pissed off, and the ones who thought it was too mild might not even try this one because it looks the same in the box, even though it would be right up his alley. We’ll see. It’s a good cigar” 

The brand was created to facilitate new launches outside the US.

“Because of regulations, it’s easier to create exclusive drops in the US, but that model doesn’t work internationally. So I created this brand a few years ago, and that allows us to keep the same basic packaging and band. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time. We can remain under the radar by introducing number one, two and so on. It’s a little generic, but it’s made that by design because of all these applications.”

In addition to this, one of their bestsellers, Sobremesa Brulee, will now be available internationally as well
