DAV Cigars Expands into Middle East

DAV Cigars, a brand bringing two New York cigar lovers and a Dominican Republic-based cigar-maker, is expanding into the Middle East through their Bahrain distributor Fazco.

Established by life-long friends Armen Caprielian and Valot “Val” Atakhanian together with Santiago-based master blender Pedro “Tico” Ramón Fermin, DAV Cigars have been on the American market for three years.

“We are expanding throughout the Middle East in leaps and bounds thanks to our amazing distributor Fazco in Bahrain,” said co-founder Armen Caprielian. “We are also expanding in the Caucasus region including Armenia, Georgia, and Russia.”

As well as the Middle East, the brand is pushing further into the US market and will soon be listed on the www.boutiquesmoke.com online shop recently established by Dr Gaby Kafie, CEO of Kafie 1901 Cigars. The brand’s founders are looking to hit the European market and are ready to go post Covid-19 lockdowns.

Fate would strike Armen and Val when they discussed the cigar industry, and the conversation became the catalyst for the DAV Cigars venture. Armen and Val visited the Dominican Republic, meeting with factory owner and master blender Tico. “From the start we understood each other, and our bond grew quickly.  Val and I felt the factory would be the perfect fit.  Let us also not forget that quality cigars are the bottom line.  And boy did we hit the jackpot!  We absolutely fell in love with the cigars, and we knew then and there that this was going to be the partnership!”
