On 19 September 2024, Bertie was proudly awarded the Cigar Trophy of the “Best Cigar Lounge in Asia” in a ceremony in front of the ‘who’s who’ of the cigar world, during Intertabac Dortmund.
Back to Hong Kong, the Cigraal team (operating Bertie) wasted no time in opening the bottles of champagne and celebrating this milestone with a crowd of more than sixty passionadas and passionados, some of them who have been coming to Bertie since its opening in 2019.
The Cigar Journal trophy was handed for the second time to Eric Piras by none other than Jorge Tàpies, who represents Cigar Journal in Asia.
Jorge Tàpies said “A cigar lounge is an important place for us all; this is where you enjoy your cigars of course, but also where you socialise, sometimes work, discover new cigars, and more often than not it can become a home away from home.”
Eric Piras, who operates Bertie with a loyal and dedicated team, said “I am thrilled that we finally get this award of the Best Cigar Lounge in Asia; this was our third nomination, after 2020 and 2023. I am immensely proud of my team for making it such a special place for everyone to enjoy a good cigar and feel they are part of a community!”.
Eric Piras will soon be opening the second Bertie, this time in Phnom Penh Cambodia.
