The Cigar Trophies 2020 have been voted for

The Cigar Trophies 2020 have been selected. The coveted prizes will be awarded for the 20th time this year. They are the only awards in the cigar industry that are determined by consumers. The award ceremony is expected to take place on September 18, 2020 – due to the Covid pandemic, however, in a virtual ZOOM meeting.

Passionados from all over the world nominated thousands of cigars from various countries of origin between June 3rd and 14th, 2020 as well as their preferred accessories and lounges. The five most frequently mentioned products and lounges made it onto the shortlist that was voted on from June 22 to July 3.

“Around 150,000 votes were submitted in these 12 days and it became clear that products with a large community in the social media networks could rely on the support of their fans,” explains Reinhold C. Widmayer from Cigar Journal magazine. “It was all the more exciting to watch the race for the coveted voices every day.”

Virtual ceremony expected on September 18, 2020

The Cigar Trophy Award Ceremony 2020 will take place virtually due to the cancellation of the InterTabac trade fair and due to travel restrictions. “It will be a virtual live gala,” said Reinhold C. Widmayer. “We will cool the champagne in time.”

As always, the manufacturers and brand owners will participate live. It will be a meeting with the Who’s Who of the cigar industry. The number of participants in the event is limited. Interested parties can now apply for a free ticket: office@cigarjournal.com, subject: Cigar Trophy.
