League of Fat Bastards Invites Men to Connect for Mental Health

The Serie L from the League Of Fat Bastards (LOFB) is the first cigar from a team which seeks to foster connections by building a community that celebrates the love for cigars while empowering men to connect and talk.

Made by Joya de Nicaragua, The Serie L, presented in 10-count boxes, is a medium-bodied cigar which includes Churchill, Toro, and Robusto vitolas which feature an Ecuadorian wrapper and Nicaraguan fillers and binders. 

Putting their money where their mouth is, 40% of all profits will be donated to Men’s Mental Health NGOs, beginning in the United States.

“The ultimate goal is for League of Fat Bastards to grow and deliver an online and real-world forum based on social and informational connectivity,” says Founder Adam Levine. “The concept embraces healthy masculinity and building a community that celebrates the love for cigars and empowering men to talk about mental health and support each other.”

Speaking candidly, founder Adam Levine shares his own struggles with mental health. “I faced my own mental health battle and hit rock bottom, contemplating the ultimate end. Through many sessions with psychologists, I came to realise that men need an outlet to share their issues personally and confidentially with other men,” said Adam. “Too often, men suffer in silence, and are not encouraged to share their mental challenges. Although there have been huge strides made, I feel that more can be done.” 

Adam, who appreciates time with friends with cigars, acknowledges that time spent in good conversation develops greater opportunities for men to discuss issues that they often ignore. “The social prejudice of mental health impacts men’s ability to open up, and if one conversation can save one person’s life, League Of Fat Bastards is a success.”

Each cigar’s band will feature a geo-location QR code that will allow for immediate benefits at the point of sale. The partnership opportunities are limitless but will begin with benefits such as free cigar accessories, merchandise, and inclusions from the venue the cigar is purchased from. Boveda has already expressed interest in collaborating with LOFB to engage with cigar lovers. 

Adam envisages local brand ambassadors will use the LOFB platform to develop and plan meaningful, “Only in LOFB” events, fostering a community of men’s mental health supporters. Adam is quick to point out that LOFB is not solely for men, with women also welcome to engage and support the cause.  

LOFB Cigars will begin shipping in September to brick and mortar and online retailers.
